KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii stepped down as Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) board member, in line with his party’s decision to pull support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his Perikatan Nasional government.

Razlan in a statement today thanked Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for initially appointing him to the position, and LTAT staff for aiding him throughout his tenure.

“Umno is a party that upholds the royal institution of the Malay Rulers and prioritises the rakyat. It will never abandon the rakyat’s needs as being done by the prime minister.”

Other than Razlan, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also recently tendered his resignation as Boustead Holding Bhd chairman.

The spate of resignations is initiated by Lenggong MP Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, who stepped down as energy and natural resources minister.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan had reportedly said more party ministers are expected to resign in the next couple of days. – The Vibes, August 5, 2021
