KUALA LUMPUR – The last Perikatan Nasional cabinet meeting is done, said Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali about 30 minutes ago on his Facebook page.

This further points to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s much speculated resignation and the cabinet along with it.

“God willing. The last Perikatan Nasional cabinet meeting this morning is over. The prime minister is making his way to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” Khairuddin posted today.

“When you are determined to make a decision, then trust and surrender to God because God loves those who trust (enough) to surrender.”

Muhyiddin arrived at Istana Negara at 12.23pm after chairing the cabinet meeting in Perdana Putra this morning.

If he tenders his resignation to the Agong, it is expected that the cabinet he appointed will go with him.

Muhyiddin’s speculated resignation comes on the back of intense pressure from various quarters after he lost the confidence of the Dewan Rakyat following the withdrawal of more than a dozen Umno MPs earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Bersatu Youth chief and Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal thanked Muhyiddin for his service and leadership.

In a Facebook post today, Wan Fayhsal said: “We stand tall and proud of you Tan Sri president. Thank you for your service and leadership. We’ll come back stronger, InshaAllah.” – The Vibes, August 16, 2021
