KUALA LUMPUR – Hours after the king rejected the government’s proposal for a state of emergency to be declared, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah took to Instagram to share a photo hinting at the challenges her husband faces that most may not know about.

The split image is of a lion wearing a crown. It appears regal in the first panel, while the second shows it with arrows and swords in its back.

“A king isn’t born. He is made,” read the text on the image.

Tunku Azizah did not caption her post.

Istana Negara this evening issued a statement saying the Agong sees no need to declare an emergency at this time.

It followed a three-hour meeting he had with the Malay rulers to discuss Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s proposal for such a declaration to stem Covid-19. – The Vibes, October 25, 2020
