KUALA LUMPUR – Twenty-three localities in Sabah and one in Pahang will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Wednesday to September 7.

National Security Council (NSC) director-general Datuk Rodzi Md Saad said the EMCO in Sabah involves Kg Cenderamata 2 and Kg Cempaka, Likas; Kg Inanam Laut; Kg Bambangan, Inanam; Kg Kelingau; Kg Lapasan and Taman Kuala Menggatal in Kota Kinabalu.

The four localities in Penampang are Delta Height; Kg Sindaanan; Rainfield Garden and Maju Kota Lights Industry in Jalan Lama Penampang, as well as four others in Tawau involving Kg Tg Batu Tengah; Taman Ranggu Saujana; Kg Sg Tamang in Pulau Sebatik and Tg Batu Laut, Logpon will also be placed under the EMCO. 

He said other localities in Sabah are Kg Pelangi, Kg Seri Manis and Ladang Sg Pin in Kinabatangan; Felda Sahabat 55 housing estates and Taman Perumahan Satu in Lahad Datu; Taman Limauan, Kinarut and Kg Mondikot in Papar; Ladang Mawang in Kalabakan and Mengayam Sri Arjuna sawmill in Sipitang.

“The one locality in Pahang that will be placed under the EMCO is Felda Kota Gelanggi 2 in Jerantut,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Rodzi said the EMCO in Kg Temalian, Ulu Dong in Raub, Pahang which was scheduled to end tomorrow, has been extended until next Tuesday, while the EMCO in Taman Kinarut Ria in Papar, and Kg Kota Tuaran in Tuaran, Sabah would be extended until September 7.

He added that the EMCO in 22 localities at Orang Asli settlements in Batang Padang district, Perak has also been extended until September 7, including Kg Senta, Kg Chang and Kg Sanding in Bidor and Kg Orang Asli Menderang in Sungkai.

Another 18 localities are in Batang Padang, namely, Kg Orang Asli in Batu 6, Kg Orang Asli Batu 14, Kg Orang Asli Batu 16, Kg Orang Asli Batu 17, Kg Orang Asli Batu 18, and Kg Orang Asli Batu 19, Kg Kenderong, Kg Sungai Rensa, Kg Sg Chendon, Kg Sg Odak, Kg Ampangan and Kg Pos Woh.

The EMCO in Kg Orang Asli Batu 7 and Batu 7 1/2, Kg Sg Bot Dalam, Kg Sg Bot Luar, Kg Sg Tidong, Kg Lubuk Gaharu and Kg Woh Intake has also been extended until September 7.

Meanwhile, the EMCO in 10 localities will end tomorrow, involving the Palmlyn Estate workers’ quarters in Mukah, Sarawak; IBN Highland construction site in Genting Highlands, Pahang; Taman Sri Bayu, Tumpat, Kelantan and Taman Meru 2B in Kinta, Perak.

The EMCO in six localities in Sabah, namely, Taman Sri Balung People’s Housing Project (PPR) and the Taman Sri Titingan PPR in Tawau; Camp 2 Tolokoson, Tenom; Kg Sarikan, Nabawan and Kg Lapasan and Kg Timbok in Tuaran will also be lifted tomorrow. – Bernama, August 23, 2021
