MIRI – Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau has Covid-19 self-test kits to thank for after he was found positive for the virus.

Ngau was infected last month but unsure how he got it.

He told The Vibes that he did not even realise he was suffering from Category 2 infection until he did the self-test.

“Last month, I found myself having mild symptoms like flu and sore throat. But I told myself it was just one of the usual things I had before.

“When I decided to do my own self-test, I found out that I was positive for Covid-19. I immediately sought medical help and I was placed under quarantine until October 5.

“The doctor told me I was in Category 2. I thank God none of my family members and close contacts was infected.”

After his experience, Ngau reminds others to not take lightly any Covid-19-like symptoms.

The symptoms in Category 2 are just like what we usually experience before Covid-19 emerged, he said.

He added that he is grateful for the self-test kits and that his infection was not as serious.

“If I had not performed my self-test, I would not realise I was positive.”

He advised members of the public to always be alert to any symptoms they may be experiencing and to seek medical help if they feel unwell. – The Vibes, October 16, 2021
