PUTRAJAYA – The usually serene Palace of Justice saw livelier crowds today as a group of female supporters of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak began chanting “Hidup Bossku” (long live my boss) at the court complex’s doorsteps.
Among the ladies present was a Kedahan woman who, in an emotional outburst just before Najib’s appeal was rejected by the three-member bench, told the media that her support for him will remain unwavering no matter what.
The woman who wants to be known only as Makcik Roti told The Vibes that she had taken a bus alone to Kuala Lumpur from Sg Petani as she was intent on showing her support for Najib because she feels he deserves it.
I am just a bread seller; I am not getting paid by anyone. I did not receive any financial aid from the government.
“But when Najib was prime minister, the salaries and allowances of army personnel were raised. Even the expenses of our house renovations were shouldered by him.
“Many took his kindness for granted when he was in power, they are only now realising how much he actually helped us,” said Makcik Roti, whose husband is serving in the military.
She also explained how much she feels indebted to Najib as her son, a tahfiz school student in Keramat, had directly benefited from Najib’s generosity.
“When my son was a student in 2013, I asked the school why I did not have to pay for his fees and was told that Najib had paid for them already,” she said, adding that her son would attend weekly tahlil sessions hosted by Najib at his own house.
Referring to the Court of Appeal’s denial of Najib’s application to adduce fresh evidence for his appeal, she thinks the former prime minister has been treated unfairly.
“I agree with political analysts on Facebook who say that Najib’s case is not being handled according to the law.
“I normally do not get involved in politics, but I am here now out of my love for Najib.

“I do not understand why such things are happening to him. I know that his enemies will not give up until he is in jail. No matter what the court’s decision, I leave it up to the will of God and will continue praying for Najib to remain strong and dignified in the face of opposition.”
Makcik Roti attracted the media’s attention after she was seen speaking among a group of vocal female Najib supporters who were shouting “Hidup Bosku” and “Allahuakbar” (God is great) and praying for Najib’s wellbeing as well as the downfall of his opponents. – The Vibes, December 8, 2021
