MIRI – Caretaker chief minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg has warned Sarawakians against voting for the opposition when they go to the polls tomorrow as this will put the state’s stability in disarray.
The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman cited what happened in the peninsula when Pakatan Harapan was in power for 22 months (2018 to 2020).
“There was instability and disunity. Do not vote for them.
“Vote GPS back into the state government and maintain the stability and unity that we have,” he said in his open letter to voters.
Abang Johari is Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu president, and the party is the backbone of the GPS ruling coalition.
The other component parties include the Sarawak United Peoples Party, Parti Rakyat Sarawak and Progressive Democratic Party.
On this final day of campaigning, Abang Johari said GPS is the only one that can bring development to Sarawak.
He said the state government is in the midst of fighting for the state’s loss of rights from Putrajaya.
With the recent amendment to elevate the status of Sarawak in the Malaysian equation, GPS will have many opportunities to develop the state further, he said.
“We are on the right track of bringing progress to the state via our many development initiatives.
“Public safety, economic prosperity, political stability, we in GPS will fight for all this.
“Make the best choice tomorrow when you go to vote.
“Vote for yourself, your families, the community, and the state," he said.
Abang Johari said GPS has plans in place for the future of Sarawak.
He stressed on job creation, new opportunities in the business sectors, more industrial projects that are in the pipeline and benefits that the people can expect to enjoy.
He said the state ruling coalition also has big plans for the youths of Sarawak.
He assured Sarawakians that their future will be taken care of.
