His offence falls under Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960, which provides for up to seven years’ imprisonment or a fine of up to RM10,000 or both.

The case was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Asma’Amira Shahidani, while the accused was not represented by a lawyer.

Lukman was charged with committing the offence under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which can result in a fine not exceeding RM5,000 or imprisonment for up to two years or both if found guilty.

The magistrate allowed the accused bail of RM3,000 for the two charges pending mention of the case on March 31.

Meanwhile, at the Butterworth Sessions Court, Lukman pleaded guilty before Judge Norhayati Mohamad Yunus to two charges of attempting to kill a Pakistani man by shooting with a Steven 6400 Double Barrel firearm and possessing the weapon.
