KUCHING – Consider her merits and contributions to Bersatu when deciding on her fate as a supreme council member and a minister, party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is told, following alleged links between Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and another party.
Former Sarawak PKR vice-president Voon Shiak Ni told The Vibes that Bersatu should recognise party members who are hardworking and committed.
“Zuraida is a diligent and purpose-driven minister and has plenty to contribute to her party as well as her plantation and commodities industry portfolio.
“As Ampang MP, she is always on the ground and serving her constituents well.
“I have known Zuraida for more than 16 years. We were together in PKR and I have worked with her long enough to have the locus to give her thumbs up for her commitment and dedication to serving the people on the ground all these years.
“Her diligence and dedication in her work as a minister cannot be disputed as she not only works from her desk but gets down to the ground to serve the people effectively.”
Voon also said Zuraida’s dedication to her role as a minister cannot be disputed and no one can deny her positive public image.
“Zuraida is the strongest woman political leader in the country now who has the biggest grassroots networking via her involvement in various local and international NGOs.
“What I see and support in her is her unfettered diligence and dedication to the people’s cause and she is one who never slows down whether it is a sunny day or a rainy night.
“I record my appreciation and thanks to her for her continuous support to my social and community work in Sarawak.”
Zuraida recently came under fire over allegations of her involvement with Party Bangsa Malaysia.
It was reported that Zuraida’s position in the party and as a minister could be at stake if allegations were true.
Last week, Zuraida dismissed talk of her leaving Bersatu, saying that her ministerial engagements prevented her from attending recent supreme council meetings.
She also reiterated her cordial relationship with Muhyiddin.
