KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Health Department has denied a viral audio recording that a Form 2 student in Tuaran allegedly died due to a Covid-19 booster shot.
Sabah health director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin said the news, which has gone viral online, was about a young boy who purportedly died last Saturday due to congenital heart disease.
The family has been briefed of his condition and they have accepted the cause of death as well.
“The department had carried out a probe and found the issue to be fake. Our investigation also found that the patient received his first Covid-19 vaccine dose on July 31 and the second dose on August 21 last year.
“The boy’s mother confirmed that he did not receive the booster shot,” said Dr Rose in a statement today.
The viral 1 minute and 7 seconds voice recording purportedly made by the boy’s brother claimed that his brother was forced by doctors to take the vaccine without the knowledge and consent of their parents.
The doctors were fully aware of his heart ailment.
“My brother was sick and was hospitalised and after being discharged, he told our father that he was forced to take the vaccine.
“My father was also taken by surprise. It was already known that he was sick after he was vaccinated, and he passed away,” said the voice in the audio recording.
Dr Rose said that a police report had been lodged by the boy’s mother yesterday, which includes denying the cause of death due to the booster shot.
She also denied that any of her family members had done the audio recording and made it viral via WhatsApp.
The Tuaran hospital had also lodged a police report for police to take action against irresponsible individuals who made the news viral,” she said. – The Vibes, February 14, 2022
