KOTA KINABALU – Covid-19 cases in Sabah still stands at over 4,000 cases today sustained by backlog reports in districts where most of the infections had been reported.
However, state spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun did not reveal details on the backlogs but said they were only registered in the past 24 hours.
Districts with the highest number of infections and likely where the backlogs are coming from are: Kota Kinabalu, 1,241 cases; Papar, 370 cases; Penampang, 345 cases and; Putatan, 353 cases.
“New infections stood at 4,256 cases, down 636 new cases from yesterday.
A big portion of the new cases are from results of the screening of backlog samples, which was only registered the last 24 hours,” he said in his daily briefing today.
Overall, Sabah reported 4,256 cases, down 636 cases from yesterday.
The state also reported nine deaths while no new clusters had been reported today.
Sporadic infections within the community remains as the largest contributor of the daily caseloads with 65.48%, said Masidi. – The Vibes, February 25, 2022
