BN attack on Perikatan member not isolated incident, Bersatu man alleges

JOHOR BARU – Perikatan Nasional (PN) has accused Barisan Nasional (BN) members of assault after PN member Sujali Ahmad was allegedly attacked by eight men yesterday at Tebing Runtuh, Kota Iskandar here.

According to PN lynchpin Bersatu’s information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan, this is not an isolated incident, as he claimed that 76 billboards featuring images of PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin were defaced during the campaign period.

He alleged in a press conference today that Sujali was putting up flags and banners at Tebing Runtuh before he was punched in the chest and verbally abused by men believed to be from the BN election machinery.

“On March 5, Sujali found that PN flags that were placed in the area were removed by unknown individuals. He returned the following day to put up the flags when eight men approached Sujali and began hurling vulgarities.

“He was punched in the chest and also suffered attacks to his arms. Sujali also drives a taxi and his vehicle was damaged by the men.

“It seems that the men were angry that we were putting up PN’s campaign materials.”

Meanwhile, in Muar, Wan Saiful alleged that a man wearing a vest claiming to be from the Election Commission on March 4 ordered a PN ceramah to be halted.

However, upon investigation by PN members at the ceramah, the man had identification documents of a woman instead.

“This is a case of someone pretending to be someone they are not and he later admitted to being from BN. This is not only an admission towards Muhyiddin’s power in Johor, but an admission of fear towards his power.

“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, because if you are pretending to be someone else, at least get the gender right in the identification tag.” – The Vibes, March 7, 2022
