KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry has recorded 32,800 new Covid-19 cases in the country yesterday, up by 2,013 from 30,787 recorded on Thursday (March 10, 2022).

Out of the new figure, 541 were imported cases and there are currently 322,701 active cases nationwide.

Yesterday also saw 76 deaths and 24,444 recoveries.

The states recording more than 2,000 new infections yesterday are Selangor (9,120), Kuala Lumpur (3,349), Penang (2,750), Johor (2,566), Kedah (2,508) and Pahang (2,006).

States with cases ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 are Negeri Sembilan (1,973), Sarawak (1,745), Kelantan (1,580), Perak (1,494), Sabah (1,176) and Terengganu (1,100).

The few states recording less than 1,000 new cases are Perlis (251), Labuan (113) and Putrajaya (231).

Malaysia also recorded 309 new clusters with one educational cluster known as the Persiaran Seri Emas 8 Cluster in Kampar, Perak.

The index case for this cluster was a woman, a Malaysian citizen, aged 39 years, who was reported positive for Covid-19 on February 25 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
