KUALA LUMPUR – A PAS leader did not appreciate the fiery policy speech by Puteri chief Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan, saying that she has forgotten how the Islamist party gave Umno “life” that led to victories in several by-elections after 2018.

PAS Youth exco Nurul Amin Hamid has described Zahida as forgetful, seeing that the Puteri Umno chief insulted a political partner.

She told The Vibes’ sister portal Getaran that Zahida should be grateful that PAS “sacrificed” to help Barisan Nasional (BN) to win a series of by-elections.

“Now that BN won big in two states, arrogance and pretentious attitudes are showing themselves again – the latest being Zahida’s speech. It is disappointing.

“We have always advised that party to not be too much of an ‘abang long’ in overpowering the three Malay parties for the good of the community.

“Now we have a ‘kak long’ in Umno who described PAS as ‘frogs’ and ‘scorpions’.

“Remember, the sky is not always blue. There will be a time when one is on death’s door and can only see regret.”

Zahida’s speech two days ago criticised PAS leader Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang for rejecting BN’s seat offers.

With the overwhelming victory in Johor, she said her party does not need PAS support.

“Sayonara PAS, farewell PAS, bye, bye, goodbye PAS. I hope you’re happy with your ‘other half’ among the ‘frogs’ and ‘scorpions’.

Zahida also made headlines calling on party leadership to allow the wing to take on the opposition parties during the 15th general election.

“Don’t say that we are young women, or a weak Puteri (wing). We can be more manly than some of the men around here.

“Our balls can be bigger than yours,” she said to the cheers of the Puteri delegates at the Putra World Trade Centre here.

Umno members who are wary of facing other parties that insulted them in the past, she said, should castrate themselves and throw the parts into the Johor Lama crocodile park – a location she had noted during her election campaign trip in the southern state. – The Vibes, March 19, 2022
