KUALA LUMPUR – The national daily Covid-19 caseload dips to 21,839, but the Klang Valley continues to log the most infections with 12,428.
The new cases bring the cumulative total to 4,101,081.
The death toll saw a slight increase to 34,717 after another 52 new victims were recorded as of midnight, according to the data on the CovidNow portal. Of the 52 deaths, 15 are classified as brought-in-dead.
Selangor remains the top of the list logging the most cases at 10,842, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,586), Penang (1,277), Johor (1,235), Perak (1,201) and Negri Sembilan (1,134).
States with fewer than 1,000 infections are Sarawak (980), Kedah (845), Melaka (686), Pahang (608), Terengganu (438), Kelantan (378), Sabah (372), Putrajaya (130), Labuan (80) and Perlis (47).
Selangor also has the highest number of deaths with 11 cases, followed by Johor and Kedah with eight cases each and Pahang and Perak with six cases each.
Penang recorded four cases, Kelantan and Sabah two cases each and one case each in Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Sarawak and Terengganu.
Meanwhile, a single new cluster is recorded. The Jalan Tampin Lama high-risk group cluster in Seremban, Negri Sembilan has 50 cases and a positivity rate of 78.1%.
Currently, there are 239,798 patients under home quarantine, 5,710 have been admitted into hospitals and 1,266 in low-risk treatment and quarantine centres. Some 188 patients require ventilators, while 103 are in intensive care.
As for Covid-19 vaccination rate, a total of 1,293,762 children aged five to 11, or 36.4% of the national child population, have received their first dose.
A total of 2,847,758 adolescents have been fully vaccinated, while 2,944,865 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Some 15,595,578 individuals or 66.3% of the adult population in the country have received booster doses and 22,947,925 or 97.5% have been fully vaccinated while 23,224,065 or 98.7%. – The Vibes, March 26, 2022
