KUALA LUMPUR – Police are on the lookout for witnesses relating to the murder of a Myanmar national, who was found sprawled in a pool of blood behind a row of shops in Seksyen 25, Shah Alam earlier this week.

Shah Alam police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said police were alerted of the grisly discovery by a passer-by on Monday evening at around 6.30 pm.

“Investigations showed the victim sustained fatal wounds in the abdomen area. Checks nearby yielded two knives which were found among a pile of trash nearby where the victim was found,” he said in a statement.

“Police have yet to establish the motive behind the murder,” Iqbal said, adding that the victim is believed to be in his late 20s.

Police have detained three Myanmar nationals aged between 20-40 years to assist in investigations. They include two men who work as restaurant helpers and a woman working as a tailor.

The trio were known to the victim, Iqbal said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Iqbal said the trio were remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations, while the victim’s body was sent to Klang Hospital for a post mortem.

“Investigations are ongoing to locate possible remaining suspects and to record statements from other potential witnesses,” he said, urging those with credible information to come forward. – The Vibes, April 13, 2022
