KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today panned the contents of the alleged minutes of a PAS meeting leaked earlier this week, describing the document as “total rubbish”.

Dismissing the contents of the report uploaded on the Malaysia Hot website on Monday, the Umno leader slammed the perpetrators behind the alleged leak, saying it was unacceptable to cook up such stories during the Ramadan fasting month.

“Total rubbish! These people just never stop. Crazy!” he told The Vibes in a brief WhatsApp message.

“Whoever created this tale in this holy month of Ramadan has lost all consideration.”

The alleged document had claimed that PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who supposedly acted as operators to engage with leaders of several political parties, had met with Hishammuddin on April 7 at his residence to discuss the general election and possible cooperation.

In the document dubbed “PAS’ political engagement report”, it claimed that the meeting with Hishammuddin had concluded that there was no way Umno could hold its party election before the federal polls, and that the only option remaining was to convince Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to be Umno’s poster boy.

The report also alleged that party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his predecessor Datuk Seri Najib Razak shall not hold any power within Umno, with the promise of being pardoned from their court cases.

“At the moment, Ismail Sabri and the others must form a three-party cooperation to face the general election,” the document read, adding that Hishammuddin also supposedly agreed to be Umno president on the condition that no other individuals challenge him for the top post.

In the conclusion of the report, it claimed that Umno’s faction of cabinet members will strive to ensure Ismail Sabri becomes the prime minister candidate for the coming election, and that Zahid must be convicted immediately and granted a pardon later.

Takiyuddin has not responded to The Vibes’ request for comments, while Samsuri has denied the allegations, saying it was rubbish being circulated by irresponsible parties and should not be trusted.

Meanwhile, Selangor Barisan Nasional information chief Isham Jalil was quoted by FMT as challenging Samsuri to take a “sumpah laknat” (Islamic oath) in denying the allegations that PAS is plotting to take down Umno leaders.

Earlier today, The Vibes had also reported Amanah vice-president Datuk Seri Mahfuz Omar as saying that his party will not entertain any talk of cooperating with PAS, describing his former party as impossible to work with as they are untrustworthy

This is in response to the leaked document which allegedly outlined the options available for PAS in facing the general election, including possibly cooperating with Pakatan Harapan and supporting whoever it names as prime minister candidate. – The Vibes, April 21, 2022
