PUTRAJAYA – Covid-19 positive cases who produce negative test results from the fourth day onwards will be allowed to come out of quarantine, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced today.
He said those with these negative tests results will be released from their home surveillance orders but must report the test results to a medical practitioner approved by the Malaysian Medical Council either physically or virtually through video call.
“However, if they still produce positive test results on the fourth day, the individual must complete the entire seven days of quarantine,” he noted.
Khairy said individuals will also be allowed to opt to complete the entire seven days of quarantine regardless if they test negative on day four with the new rule coming into effect on May 1.
Separately, the Rembau MP also announced new regulations for fully vaccinated inbound travellers aged 13 and above, both locals and foreign nationals, who will no longer be subjected to pre-departure and on-arrival tests.
He said this will also apply to those 12 and under regardless of their vaccination status, and former Covid-19 patients up to 60 days after they were discharged.
“However, travellers with incomplete vaccination statuses are still subjected to these pre-departure and on-arrival tests,” he said. – The Vibes, April 27, 2022
