KUALA LUMPUR – A 38-year-old mechanic will be charged for the murder of his wife, who died in Kajang Hospital on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri after suffering from abdominal injuries allegedly inflicted with a blunt weapon.

Kajang police chief ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan said the case has been referred to the Selangor deputy public prosecutor’s chambers and the suspect will be charged at the Kajang Magistrates’ Court on May 9 for murder.

“The motive behind the murder is believed to be related to a social media post made by the 28-year-old victim where she wrote that her husband was having an affair,” he said in a statement today.

He added that a post-mortem carried out on the same day the victim was admitted to hospital concluded that the cause of death was blows to her abdominal area with a blunt object.

An incident leading to the victim’s death took place at a flat in the Balai Batu 9 administrative area in Cheras where it is believed that she had been kicked and beaten with a dull weapon.

Police received a report from the medical officer who was on duty when the victim had been admitted to the hospital by her husband as bruises could be seen on her body. – The Vibes, May 6, 2022
