KUALA LUMPUR – For the third day running, Malaysia has recorded four-digit new Covid-19 cases.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that there were 1,208 new infections as of noon today, bringing the cumulative cases to 47,417.
Kuala Lumpur has the highest number of new infections at 469 cases, followed by Sabah with 381 cases.
He said the Health Ministry recorded three new deaths due to Covid-19, with the toll now at 309, or 0.7% of total infections.
Separately, 1,013 individuals have recovered today, bringing the total recoveries to 34,785.
“The latest figures bring the number of active cases to 12,323," said Noor Hisham.
Additionally, 104 individuals are under intensive care, with 42 requiring ventilator support.
Selangor recorded 185 new cases, while Negri Sembilan had 48, Penang 42, and Labuan 30.
The remaining cases were from Perak (21), Johor (9), Kedah (8), Sarawak (4), Melaka (2) and one each from Kelantan, Putrajaya and Perlis.
Only six of the new cases today were imported, with all identified in Kuala Lumpur and involving foreign nationals. – The Vibes, November 15, 2020
