KUALA LUMPUR – The “attestation” process involving 15 companies and more than 2,000 workers has been completed by the Bangladesh High Commission here, said the Malaysian Human Resources Ministry.
In a statement, it said the process is expected to continue exponentially in the coming weeks and is proof that the technical issues on worker intake previously faced have been resolved.
“For employers who have paid the levy and are planning to hire Bangladesh nationals, they can submit their applications, such as employment contracts and work orders, to the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur,” the statement said.
“The Human Resources Ministry would like to inform you that the intake process of Bangladesh workers has been initiated with the cooperation of the Bangladesh High Commission.”
The ministry added that the intake is subject to safety and health screenings, including compliance with the requirements of the Malaysian Immigration Department.
On June 7, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan was reported to have said that the issue of hiring foreign workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Cambodia was expected to be resolved in the near future. – The Vibes, July 14, 2022
