KUALA LUMPUR – A 19-year-old Muay Thai exponent has been reported missing since early yesterday morning after going for his routine jog in Taman Rimba Kiara, near Taman Tun Dr Ismail, here.
His coach, John Faizol, said a police report had been lodged on Muhammad Fazril Rashid’s disappearance at approximately 11pm last night.
John said the teenager was last seen at about 6.30am yesterday morning.
When contacted by The Vibes, John said the authorities have begun search-and-rescue operations to look for the missing martial artist.
He explained that Fazril was expected to return from his exercise within one and a half hours, but he did not show up.
“I waited two hours and then three hours for Fazril to return. At 10.30am, I still didn’t see him at the gym so I headed to the park to find him but to no avail.
“I set up a team of 30 people to head out and search for him, at about 3pm and 6pm. He is usually very punctual.”
John described Fazril as a “fit” athlete who is a very disciplined and committed individual.
The coach said the missing teenager has been training under his wing for one and a half years.
“He is a very nice and polite chap. I hope we can find him soon.”
Despite his focused demeanour, the teenager, who hails from Kedah, complained of having bad dreams in recent days leading to slightly different behaviour, John said.
“He told me he had bad dreams and wished to drink water from up a hill, which I told him that he should not.
“I told him not to go into the jungle as he might get lost. I’m worried that there might be mystical elements that might be involved.
“Please help me find him.”
