KUALA LUMPUR – Mariah Khamis, the mother of Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, has died early this morning, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Nurul Izzah Anwar both announced today.

Sharing the news on Facebook, Anwar also apologised to Pakatan Harapan Sarawak and supporters in the state for having  to cancel his tour to Miri and Kuching that was scheduled for today.

“Just got sad news from Kuala Lumpur on the passing of the mother of Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the late Mariah Khamis. Prayers for her are scheduled at about 11.30am today at the Al-Mustaqim Mosque in Ampang,” said the PH chairman who is Wan Azizah’s husband.

His daughter Nurul Izzah also shared news of her grandmother’s passing on her Facebook.
