KUALA LUMPUR – Khairy Jamaluddin said he has no idea if he would be fielded by Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sg Buloh as rumoured.

Asked about the speculation today, he said the final list of candidates would be decided by the coalition’s leadership.

“I don’t know, lah. The candidates will be decided and announced by the BN leadership,” the caretaker health minister told reporters at a press conference today on Covid-19 updates.

Khairy, the incumbent Rembau MP, is speculated to not be on the list for any federal seat in Negri Sembilan, and is rumoured to be the BN candidate for Sg Buloh.

He has defended Rembau in three elections since 2008, but was asked to make way for Umno deputy president and former Negri Sembilan menteri besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan for the coming general election.

Khairy has said previously that he would be willing to stand wherever the party placed him. – The Vibes, October 31, 2022
