KUALA LUMPUR – PKR’s stance on Sg Buloh candidate Datuk R. Ramanan has come into question, following Khairy Jamaluddin’s announcement as BN’s candidate for the constituency last night.

In a tweet this morning, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said he is set to discuss with party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim the feedback from Sg Buloh voters on the party’s candidate there.

In his tweet, however, he did not make any mention about Khairy’s candidacy.

“The final decision is (Anwar’s) as party president,” he tweeted.

PKR had earlier announced that it will field Ramanan, who is also the party’s deputy information chief, for the seat.

Ramanan was formerly MIC treasurer-general but has since joined PKR several years ago.

His first-time candidacy meant that R. Sivarasa who held the seat for PKR since 2008 was dropped despite securing huge majorities in the previous elections.

Khairy is contesting in Sg Buloh following Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan’s move to contest in Rembau, which the former held for three terms. – The Vibes, November 2, 2022
