KINABATANGAN – Warisan has outlined five key points in its manifesto for the upcoming 15th general election (GE15), said its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Without commenting on the date of the manifesto’s launch, he said the essence of the party’s manifesto includes, among other things, a vision to strengthen unity, apart from offering transparent governance if elected to lead the government.

Shafie said Warisan has also outlined its mission in its manifesto to offer a government that is clean, inclusive, and fair.

“We want a government that carries out its responsibilities transparently, as well as a fair and equitable one, so that all strata of people are entitled to help from the government.

“This manifesto is simple, but its content is deep. We’ll see how it goes,” he said when met after attending a function for the Kinabatangan parliamentary constituency here today.

Also present were Warisan’s candidate for Kinabatangan, Mazliwati Abd Malek, and Warisan Wira chief Mohd Ismail Ayob, who is also the Kinabatangan Warisan division head.

Meanwhile, Shafie said Warisan will not field a candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat if it does not have the confidence to win in that area.

The Kinabatangan parliamentary seat is a straight fight between Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who has held the seat for five terms since 1999, and new Warisan face Mazliwati.

In GE14, Bung Moktar won with a majority of 9,478 votes, defeating Ghazali Abdul Ghani from Warisan, and Mustapa Datu Tambuyong of Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah. – Bernama, November 7, 2022
