IPOH – The Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto will emphasise four main focuses, namely food security, education, housing, and people’s health, which chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has said will be implemented as soon as the people’s mandate is obtained in the 15th general election (GE15).

Saarani said five efforts and 75 initiatives are also outlined to support the coalition’s objective of “Stability for Prosperity”.

“The five efforts outlined are political stability, leadership and administration with integrity and efficiency, economic well-being, social prosperity, and youth empowerment,” he said when launching the Perak BN GE15 manifesto here last night.

He said that after governing the state for almost two years, BN has drawn up and implemented its Prosperous Perak 2030 plan, which not only outlines various efforts to redevelop the state after the Covid-19 pandemic, but also prepares Perak to face future economic and social challenges.

Therefore, he said, the manifesto is a continuation of the pioneering efforts, as well as Perak BN’s commitment to ensure the success of its plans for the benefit of all strata of society regardless of racial and religious backgrounds.

“The Perak BN manifesto was not mapped out merely for GE15 but based on meticulous studies of the ideas, views, and hopes from all levels of Perak residents who want a prosperous state,” he said.

In the meantime, he said Perak BN pledges to introduce several initiatives to ensure political stability is maintained, including ensuring that the anti-party hopping enactment is brought to the state assembly in line with the bill at the federal level.

“If it succeeds in getting a 2/3 mandate, Perak BN will try to amend the state’s constitutional enactment to appoint additional assemblymen from minority groups and youth,” he said.

He said Perak BN will also continue to make fair and equitable allocations to all state assembly constituencies to ensure the people’s interest is protected, with integrity and efficient leadership and administration. – Bernama, November 9, 2022
