KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s cabinet is “kalut” (confusing), and without direction and sincerity, said opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

Hamzah also took the opportunity to slam the picks as being not in line with Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) election campaign.

He was also quoted as saying by Berita Harian that Anwar’s cabinet announcement showed that the promises made by PH during the campaign session were merely to fish for votes.

“My sympathies…those who lost were appointed. That is why this is a ‘kalut’ cabinet,” he told reporters after an event in his Larut constituency today.

However, Hamzah congratulated Anwar on his new cabinet, including six Perak reps who were appointed ministers.

“As a Perakian, I congratulate Anwar. Umno members should hail Anwar a hero who elevated Perak, as he is from Penang.”

Anwar last night announced his picks for a 28-member cabinet, which included Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof as his deputies. – The Vibes, December 3, 2022
