KUALA LUMPUR – PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang had his statement recorded at the Sentul police district headquarters here this afternoon, after several reports were lodged against him.
The Marang MP was accompanied by his son, Muhammad Khalil, and his former political secretary, Muhammad Syahir Che Sulaiman, who is also the Bachok lawmaker.
According to The Vibes’ Bahasa Malaysia sister publication Getaran, Hadi arrived at the Sentul IPD at 3pm this afternoon.
The PAS chief had previously launched a tirade against the “creedless and immoral” DAP, which he claimed was openly slandering Islam and appointing “stupid and liberal Malays rejected by Islam” as its mouthpiece.
The latest update comes after Hadi dared Pakatan Harapan (PH) to lodge a police report against him as he was ready to be called up to Bukit Aman.
PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil had earlier urged PAS to stop spreading “hate and misinformation” and challenged the party to initiate police investigations if it believes that DAP – a PH component – was guilty of the accusations flung by Hadi.
He also reminded PAS, a Perikatan Nasional component, that provoking racial friction would be contrary to the advice of the Agong, who had called for unity in the interests of the nation.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also PH chairman, had instructed police to investigate those who went overboard in issuing slanderous statements, such as those claiming that Anwar is an “Israeli agent”.
Royal Malaysia Police secretary Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin has since said that Bukit Aman had initiated an investigation into Hadi over his allegations. – The Vibes, December 5, 2022
