KUALA LUMPUR – An elderly woman was among six people who escaped unhurt when a 9m-high landslide damaged their house at Taman Halaman in Ampang here this evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said a fire engine with seven personnel from the Ampang Fire and Rescue station was rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 6.14pm.

He said the initial inspection found that there were two houses affected by the landslide, but another house was empty, and no casualties were reported.

“The landslide measuring 9 by 15 sq m had occurred and hit the back of the two houses.

“There were six people in the occupied house, namely a woman in her 70s, a man and a woman in their 40s, and three girls aged between 10 and 16,” he said in a statement.

Norazam said all of them were advised to evacuate the house temporarily, adding that firemen were closely monitoring the site. – Bernama, December 9, 2022
