KUALA LUMPUR – Footage showing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s motorcade making way for an ambulance has won praises on social media recently.
The video posted on TikTok by user profile Bengkel Muda, and which stretches just under a minute, has gone viral since it was first posted on Saturday.

At the time of this writing, the video has gained nearly 11,000 likes and more than 600 shares, with many TikTok users praising the leader and outriders for putting the needs of a medical emergency before theirs.
Notably, the footage – taken off a dashboard camera – shows a police outrider cruising through rush hour crawl, followed by an ambulance before the rest of the motorcade cruised through bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Signages that appeared on the three-lane road indicated that it was near Exit 1808 of the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK).
The timestamp on the dashcam footage showed that the footage was caught just before 8am on Friday (December 9).
When contacted, an official from Anwar’s office confirmed that the motorcade was ferrying the prime minister at the time.
TikTok users who watched the video lauded the prime minister for the gesture.
“One by one, PM10’s good deeds can be seen,” Zhuwen13 wrote in the video's comment section.
Another user harmizahabdwahab remarked that this was a case of “leadership by example”.
Meanwhile, TikTok user serimalaysia said, “this is what we want, the people being put first.”
The recent TikTok video is in stark contrast to another scenario in December last year which saw an ambulance with sirens blaring giving way to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s convoy in Hulu Langat, which earned the ire of netizens.
