MELAKA – Bemban assemblyman Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub, who is also Melaka Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, is the state’s legislative assembly new opposition leader.

He takes over from Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari who was appointed as the new deputy defence minister.

“We will be a more effective opposition so that we can provide a check and balance to the government to guarantee the people’s wellbeing,” he told reporters here today.

The Melaka assembly has 28 seats with 21 held by Barisan Nasional, five by Pakatan Harapan and two by PN. – Bernama, December 13, 2022
