KUALA LUMPUR – More than 20 teachers from SJK (C) Mun Choong here and their families were confirmed to be among victims of the landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Gohtong Jaya, this morning.

President of the school’s parent-teacher association, U Chin Ong, said based on the information received so far, several teachers have been rescued by the authorities and sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for treatment.

“Apart from HKL, some teachers were also sent to the Hulu Yam Baru police station to be treated by medical personnel from HKL,” he said, adding that a female teacher and her baby who suffered minor injuries were also being treated there.

Chin Ong said the teachers and their families had decided to go for a holiday by setting up camp in the affected area for three days starting on Wednesday.

He said there were two campsites in the farm and the one badly hit was the first site.

Meanwhile, according to reports, several Welfare Department personnel were seen distributing basic items, such as clothes, sanitary pads, food, and slippers to the affected victims at the police station.
