JOHOR BARU – Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar consented to an audience with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Serene today. 

This is the second meeting between both leaders in the last two months. 

Anwar landed at Senai International Airport at 9.30am before heading to the palace for the meeting. 

The prime minister last met with Sultan Ibrahim on November 27, with the meeting taking place in Kuala Lumpur. 

After his audience with the Johor ruler, Anwar headed to Kg Melayu Majidee where he enjoyed a light meal with Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. 

Anwar’s arrival was met with chants of “Reformasi” by a group of supporters waiting for the prime minister’s arrival at the Murtabak Azo 96 Kg Melayu food court. 

Also present were Johor state excos Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor and Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, and Pakatan Harapan lawmakers – Johor Baru MP and Deputy Local Government Development Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Sri Gading MP Aminolhuda Hassan, and Segamat MP R. Yuneswaran. 

Anwar then proceeded to enter Masjid Kg Melayu Majidee to perform Friday prayers. – The Vibes, December 30, 2022
