KUALA LUMPUR – The five Sabah Umno assemblymen who had earlier called for Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to step down as the state Umno chief have since retracted their call.

In an amended statement, the five who were against the party’s stand to pull support from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) removed the line demanding Bung step down as the Sabah Umno chief.

In the amended statement, they still condemned the plot to remove Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor but did not include the demand for Bung to resign as party chief as in the earlier statement.

The five assemblymen are Tg Keramat state assemblyman Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, Sindumin’s Datuk Yusof Yacob, Pantai Dalit’s Datuk Jasni Daya, Tempasuk’s Datuk Arshad Bistari and Sugut’s Datuk James Ratib. – The Vibes, January 7, 2023
