KLUANG – A retired principal and another staff member of a school here are being investigated for their alleged part in purportedly securing the school’s supplies and maintenance projects under a company linked to both.
The retired educationist, aged 60, and the current staff, aged 41, were detained at the Kluang branch of the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this morning.
The matter has been confirmed by Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias.
Both men were earlier summoned to the graft busters’ office to get their statements recorded.
The duo had allegedly benefitted from the contract works between 2015 and last year, with the retired principal supposedly being the person in charge of authorising the projects to be awarded to the company in question.
Both men, however, are now released on bail. – The Vibes, January 17, 2023
