KUALA KANGSAR – Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali today headed the list of 22 recipients of awards and medals in conjunction with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah’s 66th birthday last November.
They are among 212 recipients of the state awards and medals announced on November 3, last year.
Zuki, 60, who was appointed as the 15th chief secretary to the government on January 1, 2020, was conferred the Dato’ Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini award, which carries the title Datuk Seri.
Sultan Nazrin consented to confer the awards and medals in an investiture ceremony held at Istana Iskandariah here.
Also in attendance was Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi were also present.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain @ Abd Rasid received the Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari award, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
International Trade and Industry Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Isham Ishak received the Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini award, which carries the title Datuk.
In addition, 14 individuals were conferred the Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award, which carries the title Datuk.
They are Perak Chief Shariah Judge Abdul Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor; Malaysian High Commissioner to London Datuk Zakri Jaafar; Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Rosli Isa; Treasury Deputy Secretary-General Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin @ Mohd Zanuddin; and National Archives director-general Jaafar Sidek Abdul Rahman.
Other recipients are Perak Development Office director Shamshuzaman Sulaiman; Public Works Department Integrated Asset Management Branch senior director Zulkipli Nasri; Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital infectious disease physician Dr Ker Hong Bee; and National Heart Institute Cardiothoracic Surgery Department head Dr Alwi Mohamed Yunus.
Karangkraf Media Group Sdn Bhd board of directors chairman Datuk Hussamudin Yaacub; Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mubarak Ali Gulam Rasul; Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Lee Fuh Yen; and Selangor and Federal Territory Eurasian Association president Sheila Eleanor De Costa were also conferred the DPMP award.
Former Suhakam commissioner, the late Datin Mehrun Siraj, was represented by her husband Datuk Sulaiman Abdullah to receive the award posthumously.
At the ceremony, five individuals received the Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) award, which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan, namely Malaysian Armed Forces Western Fleet Engineers commander Abdul Hamid Mohd Isa; Malaysian Armed Forces defence adviser Safwan @ Asri Ismail; and Mohd Ghazalli Mohd Taha from the Army Headquarters’ Royal Medical and Dental Corps.
Malaysian Armed Forces Inspector-General Abd Halim Shaari and Perak Police Special Branch head Shazeli Kahar were also conferred the DPTS award. – Bernama, March 4, 2023
