KUALA LUMPUR – Merlimau state assemblyman Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has won the position of Umno Youth chief for the 2023-2026 session based on an unofficial result just now.

The unofficial decision was announced by the wing’s former leader Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki on Twitter. 

Muhamad Akmal won with a simple majority of 96 votes at about 10.15pm, thus granting him head seat in the Umno wing. 

“God willing, the unofficial result has shown Dr Akmal Saleh successfully winning the position of chief of the Umno Youth for the 2023-2026 session. 

“So far it has passed the simple majority of 96 out of 191 (votes). Congratulations!,” he wrote. – The Vibes, March 11, 2023
