KUALA LUMPUR – Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is preparing to take action against the operator of the venue where a new club will be opened featuring the “Thai Hot Guys”, as it does not have an entertainment licence, the prime minister’s political secretary said.
The venue is also operating on an expired restaurant licence, said Azman Abidin.
He said DBKL had done a preliminary check on the premises, which is licensed to Beijing 9 Sdn Bhd as a restaurant, and found that its restaurant permit had expired on February 4, 2021.
“The premises also do not have an entertainment licence and there is no application for an entertainment licence or application to carry out entertainment activities.
“DBKL is also reviewing the matter to take enforcement action if there is any violation of rules and conditions by the organisers,” Azman said in a statement today.
The prime minister’s political secretary was responding to news of the opening of the Privacy Club at Jalan Tun Razak on March 30, which has promised to feature buff male performers wearing lingerie and skimpy outfits as the main attraction.
Social media publicity of the club’s opening has drawn protests from PAS and Umno figures.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan slammed the event’s timing during the holy month of Ramadan, while Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the party wing would be lodging a police report.
According to the Facebook page Malaysia Pub 马来西亚酒吧 , the Privacy Club Tun Razak is in Jalan Tun Razak, and its opening event will include DJs Perry Kuan and Alexis Grace. – The Vibes, March 22, 2023
