MELAKA – The strong presence of various races at the Aidilfitri open house in Melaka proves that solidarity among the people in the state is strengthening.

State senior executive councillor for Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Datuk Rais Yasin said this indirectly reflects the Malaysia Madani concept at the state level.

“The Aidilfitri open house is indeed a way to forge racial unity. The spirit of Malaysia Madani is now being applied at the state level as well.

“So, I expect the Aidilfitri open houses of other executive councillors or state assemblymen will be livelier this year, promoting a harmonious atmosphere with racial diversity,” he told the media at the Raya open house held at Krubong Community Sports Complex here today.

Also present was Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, who accompanied the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam and other state leaders to the event.

The event began at 10am and saw over 10,000 guests from various socioeconomic backgrounds and races present, especially residents from the Paya Rumput state constituency. – Bernama, April 23, 2023
