KUALA LUMPUR – PAS is looking to maintain status quo as it contests all Kelantan assembly seats it previously won in the upcoming state polls.

Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah, who is PAS Kelantan deputy commissioner, said the eight seats previously won by Barisan Nasional (BN) will be contested by Bersatu, reported Sinar Harian.

“We will use the same formula as the 15th general election (GE15) where the parliamentary seats won by BN were handed over to Bersatu to contest.

“This decision has been made following meetings and discussions that were conducted before. If there are any changes after this, it will be announced again,” he said when he attended the Kelantan menteri besar’s open house in Tumpat, Kelantan today.

Amar said that PAS has prepared thoroughly to contest the state seats.

According to him, PAS already has a list of names to be nominated as candidates.

“The list of names will be filtered and the final decision will be made by the menteri besar,” he said. – The Vibes, April 23, 2023
