KUALA LUMPUR – Umno vice-president, Datuk Seri Johari Abd Ghani was appointed as the new Barisan Nasional treasurer-general, replacing Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir announced the appointment of the Titiwangsa MP under Clause 8.3(E) of the BN constitution following the coalition’s supreme council meeting last night.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin were appointed as Umno representatives in the BN Supreme Council, while Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah is represented by its information chief Datuk Fredie Sua.

Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh and Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi were appointed as representatives of the Youth and Puteri wings respectively.

“The BN supreme council also agreed to participate in the unity government’s national convention to be held on May 12 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

“BN calls on all leaders and Malaysians of various races to continue upholding peace and unity to ensure a stable political future for the nation,” added Zambry. – The Vibes, April 28, 2023
