KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians who were not successful in purchasing Coldplay concert tickets the last two days have not given up hope and have started a petition to demand the British rock band perform another night.

The petition on petitions.net has already garnered 7,534 signatures as of 9pm.

“Dear Chris Martin and mates.

“Thank you for coming to Malaysia, all tickets are sold out and we Malaysians hope you consider a second show for us. Thank you,” the petition reads.

Chris Martin is the lead singer for Coldplay, who are scheduled to perform at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on November 22 after their tickets sold out following two days of sale.

It is believed that concert organiser Live Nation Malaysia sold at least 60,000 tickets based on the numbers from the previous Blackpink concert in March which was held at the same venue.

However, despite a successful sold-out concert for Live Nation Malaysia, the entertainment promoter received brickbats online from fans who failed to obtain tickets.

Netizens took to social media today accusing Live Nation Malaysia and ticketing platform Go Live Asia of poor management of its ticket purchasing system, with some fans suggesting that their failures benefitted scalpers more than fans.

Checks by the Vibes on ticket resellers Viagogo and Twitter showed scalpers reselling tickets for nearly up to five times their original price. – The Vibes, May 17, 2023
