GEORGE TOWN – All women should lodge police reports against Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for using a foul word in Hokkien when giving a ceramah recently, Jelutong MP R.S.N. Rayer said today.

He said even men would be offended with the word Sanusi uttered at a Perikatan Nasional (PN) rally in Kubang Semang, Permatang Pauh last Saturday.

“I think even men are offended by this. I today hereby challenge Sanusi to utter a similar word when walking on the streets of Penang. Make such a call in public and let us see how people will react to him. He is rude and callous, yet wants to be called a leader,” Rayer said at a press conference today.

The DAP politician was referring to video clips on social media of Sanusi uttering “l*n j**”, a Hokkien expletive for male genitalia, sometimes used when people get into arguments with each other.

His utterance was greeted by boisterous laughter from the gathering.

Seen laughing along on stage were Gerakan president Dominic Lau and PAS vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad, a former federal minister in charge of Islamic religious affairs.

Sanusi had allegedly used the word when speaking about how non-Muslims would not be victimised if PAS were to take over Penang.

His speech at the ceramah was held as political parties are now gearing up for state elections in Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, and Selangor.

Sanusi is also PN elections director.

Rayer said he would seek censure of Sanusi in Parliament, which continues its current sitting tomorrow. – The Vibes, June 5, 2023
