KUALA LUMPUR – Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is reportedly receiving further treatment and monitoring by doctors at a hospital following a slight deterioration in his health.

His son, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, on Facebook today appealed to the public to pray for the PAS president’s speedy recovery.

“My father’s health had deteriorated slightly before Hari Raya Aidiladha (which fell on Thursday), and he is now receiving treatment and being further monitored by doctors at the hospital,” he said.

He said Hadi was already weak when he was present to launch an election machinery event in Terengganu on the festive day, but managed to brave his condition.

“May God bless my father with health and well-being. Thank you for the prayers offered by everyone,” he said.

Hadi, who is an opposition leader and a major figure in the Perikatan Nasional coalition, is a longtime MP for Marang in Terengganu.

Khalil, meanwhile, is also an active figure in PAS, and is presently the state assemblyman for Batu Buruk, also in Terengganu.

It is understood that Hadi had earlier received treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in June.

On February 16, he was rushed to Putrajaya Hospital after experiencing shortness of breath before being referred to IJN. – The Vibes, July 1, 2023
