KUALA LUMPUR – PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang was rushed to hospital yesterday evening after he reportedly experienced breathing difficulties.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Armand Azha Abu Hanifah in a statement said the Marang MP was sent to the emergency ward in Putrajaya Hospital before being transferred to the National Heart Institute (IJN).

He added that Hadi arrived at Putrajaya Hospital at about 7.50pm and was accompanied by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

“A doctor said he is in stable condition. His heart was found to be weak, likely due to exhaustion.”

Armand Azha said the doctor has informed him that Hadi was referred to IJN for follow-up treatment and to receive a swab test for Covid-19.

He added that Hadi was sent to IJN here by ambulance at 9.25pm yesterday.

In a Facebook post, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said he has received news that Hadi was sent to hospital and is in stable condition.

“Let us all pray so that Allah SWT grants him the best of health and a quick recovery.” – The Vibes, February 16, 2021
