KUALA LUMPUR – Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today decreed that the issue involving Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has yet to be resolved.

A statement on the Selangor Royal Office’s Facebook page said Sultan Sharafuddin granted an audience to Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan separately at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam today.

“In separate audiences, they discussed Sanusi’s statement, which was made in a recent ceramah in Selangor and is deemed to have insulted the Selangor royal institution,” read the statement.

Two days ago, Sanusi had apologised to the Selangor ruler over his statement regarding the appointment of the Selangor menteri besar.

Sanusi said he had sent a letter to the Selangor sultan explaining what he had truly meant in his speech.

In a Facebook post, he claimed that his speech was manipulated by Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional.

Police had earlier confirmed opening an investigation paper on Sanusi over the matter under the Sedition Act 1948 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
