KOTA BARU – Umno leaders said to have signed statutory declarations in support of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim are advised to lodge a police report and file a complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission if the matter is untrue.

However, if they did sign the SDs, said Barisan Nasional secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa, they must be honest with the people and not give the party a bad image.

“As far as I know, it (signing SDs) is not a decision made by the party, Muafakat Nasional or Perikatan Nasional, and there has been no discussion on SDs.

“I hope it is not true. Only those whose names have been mentioned know what happened, and they should be honest,” he told reporters after meeting bloggers in Kg Tapang here today.

The Ketereh MP was commenting on claims that there are Umno lawmakers backing opposition leader Anwar’s bid to form a new government.

Annuar reiterated Umno’s “no Anwar, no DAP” stand, and called on members to place the interests of the party over their own. – Bernama, December 13, 2020
