KUALA LUMPUR – Kedahans will enjoy a holiday tomorrow if Perikatan Nasional retains the state in the polls today.

This was announced by caretaker menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Nor in a statement today.

Over in Terengganu and Kelantan, Sunday will be a public holiday regardless of the outcome of the results.

The states announced holidays to ease matters for outstation voters and also Election Commission workers.

The working week in the three states is from Sunday to Thursday.

In Selangor, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari had earlier promised to declare Monday a public holiday if Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional win the state.

Over in Penang, Chow Kon Yeow, the caretaker chief minister, said he had no plans yet to declare Monday a public holiday, while Negri Sembilan will decide based on the election results later tonight. – The Vibes, August 12, 2023
