PETALING JAYA – Social media presents an opportunity unlike any medium throughout the ages for people to share every bit of their daily lives.

When a good deed done privately makes the news, it is always heartwarming to know that there are still those out there who help for the sake of helping and not for the sole purpose of turning the help into content.

A comment by one Adiey Salleh was recently shared by TikTok account @sitism__era, where he recalled how Malaysia's pop darling Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin had once helped his family.

Recalling what happened on June 20, 2012, Adiey said that he was at the National Heart Institute at the time, when his young son had to undergo surgery for a congenital heart disease.

He said that he was talking with his wife about withdrawing from their Employees Provident Fund as the cost was too high.

They were then approached by a representative of SimplySiti, the singer’s cosmetics company. Adiey said the company had offered to bear the cost of his son’s surgery.

He swore that his story was true and that he was eternally grateful, adding that only God was able to repay Siti Nurhaliza’s good deed.

Adiey gave the TikTok account consent to share his story as his son was no longer around. Following the surgery, they had about three months with their son, Izz Rayyan Fitri.

“He still had some time to run around and celebrate Raya,” Adiey said.

Many reacted to the story, commending Siti Nurhaliza for her selfless act.

“Siti has always been saying that it is now the time for her to give back to society,” said @mistahahjaz.

“This is Siti Nurhaliza. She does charity without publicising it. That is why many love her, including me. May Allah take care of you, TokTi,” @raisya_adelia said.

“Siti uses her talent to help people and save lives,” remarked @kevin. – The Vibes
